At Talking Heads, we love encouraging and supporting aspiring hair stylists. When entering the cosmetology industry, there are a lot of challenges a new stylist can face. Honing your skills/color formulation, building confidence, and growing a clientele, just to name a few. Working directly under an experienced hair stylist is a great way to navigate this crazy industry that we love so much!

 

Hands-on Experience

 

In an apprentice position, you will be assisting the salon owner directly. You will work hands-on alongside Maryssa. The goal is to give you as much education as we can during this opportunity. Working on clients to perfect your color application process, learning different methods/techniques for achieving different goals, giving a strong and thorough shampoo; all skills required for a great stylist! We will progressively incorporate more as you learn and grow.

 

Taking the Color Wheel into Real Life

 

We will take all the basic skills you learn in school and make them grow! This will allow you to get a clear understanding of how color actually works and how it reacts to each client's unique hair type. We will reference some of the same material you saw in school and some new things!
